For over 165 years, we have offered a helping hand to the people behind the UK’s railways and their families when life throws up the most difficult challenges – such as illness, injury or financial hardship.

Every four minutes, someone reaches out for our help or advice. In return, we’re there for them.

As a non-membership charity, we rely solely on the generosity of our supporters to continue our work which focuses exclusively on the UK railway family. Whether our train drivers, station and maintenance crew , supporting staff or other key workers, we want to ensure they can always be at their best.

Rebuilding Futures Alliance (RFA) mission is to transform lives by helping individuals facing significant barriers to employment, including ex-offenders, young people leaving the care system, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We work closely with our charity partners, transport employers, and training providers to support candidates with tailored training, skills development, and work opportunities that empower them to achieve lasting change. Our holistic approach addresses not only employability but also personal growth, resilience, and confidence, enabling individuals to rebuild their futures with dignity and purpose. By connecting untapped potential with meaningful employment, RFA strengthens communities, reduces reoffending, and creates brighter prospects for all.
