Passenger information needs to improve, says watchdog

London Underground needs to improve its passenger information during upgrades, the chief executive of London TravelWatch has warned.
‘You have to remember you’re dealing with people, not projects,’ Janet Cooke told delegates at a Westminster City Council seminar, Transport in London. ‘While all the work is taking place on the Tube, your passengers need to be told.’
She added that London Underground’s change to block upgrades over a shorter period of time was to be welcomed. She also praised Thameslink, saying: ‘They have told passengers what they intend to do and when and where. That’s how it should be.
She acknowledged, however, that London’s public transport is of a high standard.
‘Generally, we cannot but be satisfied with the choices we have in London. Statistics confirm high overall satisfaction rates.
